AntiBigBen [2007]

Loop video/photomontage animation

AntiBigBen  proposes the replacement of official digital clocks or “Big Bens”, for a public “anti-clock” that no longer dictates or demarcates the numerical time but only gives us the idea of repetitive cycles. In one of the sharp edges, the hand is trying to grab/ hold the spindle that indicates passage of time. At the other extreme, the hand is offered to the “sting” of the spindle, an act of surrender to time and its relentless movement.

The videointervention was exhibited on a public facade, during the artistic occupation Orlândia Associated Artists (2007).
